Welcome to Croyde Class
Welcome back to a new school year in Croyde Class. I hope that you all had a very enjoyable summer. It has already been a very busy start to the term and I am pleased to see the children so enthusiastic about being back. I wanted to use this opportunity to share a few more details about our class and to thank you for such a positive start.
We are incredibly lucky that we have lots of support this year in Croyde Class. We are joined by Miss Spearman, Mrs Sluman and Miss Lee. You are always welcome into our class and if you need to share anything with us the best time is to visit after school.
If you have book bags at home please bring them in so we can begin sorting books to go home. We have lots of new books for the children to enjoy and book bags and reading are expected daily. Homework will be sent out on a Thursday and will consist of reading, spelling and maths skills just like before in their previous class.
The children look fantastic in their school uniform and they are really proud of their new clothes. Please can you make sure that all items are named including coats. PE will be taking place on Tuesdays but it is always useful to keep their kit in their lockers. Please can you also ensure that these are named.
The children have entered a sea themed school this year and we are all named after local beaches. We have already planned our first visit and plan to go see the Night Pirates at our local Queens theatre on the 27th of September. The cost for this visit will be £10 and will be a great opportunity to see a very popular story come to life. The show is only in Barnstaple for a short time so we have been incredibly lucky to have been able to get seats. I will send out more details on Monday but wanted to let you know about this as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to pop in and see us.
Throughout the year there will be lots of times for the children to dress in pirate and sailor costumes. I thought it would be good to share this with you so you can begin searching for stripey t-shirts and eye patches. Soon we will also be making our very own sea cloaks so if you have any spare fabric, felt, shells and ribbon they would be very appreciated.
In future our class news will be a great way of sharing the success of our learning projects and to let you know what we are learning about. Thank you very much for your ongoing support and we all look forward to a fantastic year in Croyde class. Croyde beach has its own website if you would like to find out more about our class name. www.croydedevon.co.uk
