This week in Nursery . .
Twinkle Toes have had lots of fun exploring cooked spaghetti. We have enjoyed feeling it with our hands and using tools to cut it up. We talked about how it felt and used words such as ‘sticky’ and ‘squidgy’.
In Tiny Toes we started to look at our new book, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Some of us watched the film during the Christmas break. We have looked at the illustrations on the covers and also at the illustrations inside the book. We are trying to answer the question, “How do you know . . . ?” It’s quite tricky but Mrs Roome sometimes gives us a clue to help.
One of our friends had a birthday this week. He chose to make a vanilla sponge with orange-flavoured icing. We didn’t have any orange food colouring so Mrs Roome had to mix up some red and yellow. Then we had orange! Everybody had a piece and it tasted delicious.
Some of us have been having fun making bubbles in the water tray and mark-making in the soap suds.
We learnt how to play a computer game where we have to count different actions. Sometimes the pink man skips, sometimes he jumps and sometimes he heads a ball. We have to watch carefully so that we don’t miss what he does then chose the right numeral to match the actions. Some of us are getting quite good at this game.
Look out for the next Chatterbox Bags which will hopefully start to be sent out next week. This term the story is ‘The Three Little Pigs’.
