Book at Bedtime

On Tuesday lots of children returned to school in their pyjamas. They settled down in the darkened reading room and enjoyed  a range of  entertaining  stories.

Mr Barnard read ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler

Mrs Walters read ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker Rees

Miss Marshall read ‘The Disgusting Sandwich’ by  Gareth Edwards and Hannah Shaw

Mrs Roome read – ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy

Ms Hayles read ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury

The children stopped for a biscuit and a hot chocolate half way through the stories. It was lovely to see Nursery and Reception children, mums, dads, grandparents and older brothers and sisters too.

The next day  parents  and children commented on how much they had enjoyed the evening!

  2. I really liked hearing so many different stories. Which one did you like best?
